Event Management Minor
Event Management
18 Credit Minor
According to MPI – Meeting Professionals International – nearly 2 million meetings and events take place in the United States each year. These experiences directly and positively contribute to our nation’s economy, as well as account for approximately 1.8 million jobs. That said, the meeting and event industry is a vital – and growing – one today. For this reason, students may want to consider Cabrini’s interdisciplinary minor in Event Management.
The 18-credit Event Management Minor is designed to prepare students for meeting and event careers in profit and non-profit sectors. These careers would require them to lead and manage medium-to-large scale events such as corporate meetings, conventions, product launches, educational programs, concerts, galas, ceremonies, and more.
This minor includes an emphasis on building students’ multicultural competence and understanding of cross-cultural differences when planning and implementing events. It is comprised of courses in business, leadership, marketing communication, and experience design. As such, it pulls from – and is supported by – each of the departments in Cabrini’s School of Business and Professional Studies.
